How to Control Positions？

1. Trade with the Trend

Whether you can gain greater profits on the basis of controlling risks when trading with trend depends on the situation of positions control, which means you should maintain some positions that are in line with market trend.

Positions can be divided into three types: small positions, medium positions, and big positions. Normally, traders can keep the medium positions to follow the market trend in trading, and other positions as operable ones. Specific operations can be adjusted according to personal preferences. Traders who focus on short-term operations can increase liquidity positions, while those focus on mid-line operations can reduce them.

The distinction between small, medium, and big positions can be made according to the amount of fund and risk preference. For example: 5% for small positions, 8% for medium positions, and 10% for big positions (occupancy margin ratio). If the amount of fund is too small to be able to be divided, make one single transaction.

2. Countertrend Trading

In countertrend trading, positions control is more important, the purpose of which is to reduce operational risk, because the success rate of countertrend trading will decrease more or less. It is necessary to maintain sufficient liquidity of capital in countertrend transactions to avoid being held up.
