Updates from Japan – Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that the further easing of restrictions on July 10 will be going on as planned, despite the resurgence of new Covid cases in Tokyo. Tokyo had reported more than 100 new cases for the 6th straight day on Tuesday. This comes in direct contrast to the call from Economy Ministry Yasutoshi Nishimura that ‘the govt needs to deal with coronavirus countermeasures with a sense of urgency.’
