Messari, a leading crypto market intelligence company, recently announced that it has secured $21 million in the Series A funding round led by the US-based Point72 Ventures.
According to an official announcement, Messari is planning to expand the international reach of the company’s Pro and Enterprise product suites through the latest funds. Additionally, the crypto firm aims to increase the size of its research and engineering teams.
The latest funding round is the first crypto-related investment of Point72 Ventures. The Series A funding includes support from the company’s existing investors Coinbase Ventures, Uncork Capital and Underscore VC.
New strategic investors, including Alameda Capital, Blockchain Ventures, CMS Holdings, Gemini Frontier Fund, Winklevoss Capital, Kraken Ventures and Nascent also joined the $21 million round.

Messari highlighted that Adam Carson, an operating partner at Point72 Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors as part of the recent transaction.

Founded nearly three years ago, Messari aims to bring transparency and smarter analysis to the cryptocurrency industry. Furthermore, the company provides crypto research and data analytics services.
“While investor participation in the crypto industry has grown exponentially over the past three years, current cryptocurrency research and analysis tools are still lacking the sophisticated signals and data that more advanced investors need. Messari is filling that much-needed space, creating a central access point for reliable information for the entire crypto ecosystem,” Carson commented.
