Investing - Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.56% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings SAB De CV, which rose 3.56% or 2.14 points to trade at 62.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV added 2.57% or 26.12 points to end at 1,042.16 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV was up 2.38% or 0.55 points to 23.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA, which fell 4.95% or 0.71 points to trade at 13.63 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV declined 3.11% or 1.47 points to end at 45.75 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV was down 1.87% or 0.25 points to 13.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 137 to 116 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Becle SA fell to all time lows; losing 4.95% or 0.71 to 13.63. Shares in Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.38% or 0.55 to 23.62.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.32% or 15.00 to $4,745.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.97% or 2.83 to hit $98.25 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.33 to trade at $104.69 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 17.18, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 20.25.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 97.80. (AI)
