H38 Special leave granted under H33 (d) should be granted as follows :- (a) to all public servants who are members of the Central Executive of recognised Staff Associations and Trade Unions catering for public srervants to attend ordinary , emergency or special meetings of the Central and Executive of such staff associations and Unions concerned provided that public servants who are posted for duty outside Georgetown, must obtain prior approval to leave their duty stations whenever necessary ; (b) to those public servants who hold the offices of President, Secretary, Assitant Secretary , Stewart in recognised Staff associations and Trade Unions catering for public servants for the purpose of investigating complaints ,or assisting in settling disputes or other matters affecting conditions of service of members of the Staff Associations and Unions concerned , except shop Stewards in the Transport and Harbours Department ( wher adequate arrangements are in force for those fuctions to be carried out by sectional Union Officials) subject to the conditions specified in Rule H39.

Leave prior to resignation H46 Public Servant who apply for permission to resign their posts maybe granted earned leave as may have accrued to thm , They should give at least one month's notice in writing of their departure on leave prior to resignation.

Extention of leave on medical grounds H26 In addition to leave granted under Rul H15 above , extensions of leave with full salary may be granted by the Permanent Secretary , Public Service Ministry on the grounds of ill -health to any public servant for any period notexceeding six calender months, in the first instance , and when there is reason to believe that the public servant will ultimately be fit for further service , for a further period of six months wit half salary . Any further extension of leave will be decided on the merits of the case and shall be without pay .
