U.S. crude oil WTI settled 0.39% higher on Wednesday (Oct 2), after oil prices were supported by Israel's vow of a "painful" response to an Iranian missile attack. But gains were capped by a rise in U.S. crude inventories last week.
Kpler Agency's chief oil analyst for the Americas said the inventory data skews bearish, "in stark contrast to the current geopolitical backdrop that is driving prices higher today."
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for November delivery rose 27 cents, or 0.39%, to settle at $70.10 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
